I went against the advice of friends and family who told me to stick to college, get my A-levels and worry about an apprenticeship later. Instead I took the risk, and it worked.
Today I am an Apprenticeship Advocate and keynote speaker in Taunton, sharing what the route actually feels like: the applications, the rejections, the money, the pressure and the payoff.
The best people to talk about apprenticeships are apprentices themselves, so I speak in schools, mentor school leavers for free and help employers understand why hiring young talent works.

My route
I left college, walked away from an apprenticeship that was not right and secured a marketing role at Queen's College, Taunton. Post 16 routes are not linear, and that is the point.
