Behind the scenes: building the Taunton Apprenticeship Evening 2027

How a marketing apprentice at Queen's College built the Taunton Apprenticeship Evening 2027 from a napkin sketch to a countywide event.

Every event has an origin story. The Taunton Apprenticeship Evening 2027 started as three lines in a Canva doc. Here's how it grew into a countywide Somerset event hosted at Queen's College, Taunton.

The idea

As a multi-channel marketing apprentice studying at Bridgwater & Taunton College and working at Queen's College, Taunton, I kept meeting parents who didn't know Somerset apprenticeships existed. The gap was information, not talent.

Building the coalition

Early buy-in from University Centre Somerset (UCS), Bridgwater & Taunton College and Queen's College, Taunton unlocked the venue, the exhibitors and the credibility.

The marketing plan

Zero-budget: Queen's College Facebook, Queen's College Instagram, LinkedIn organic, local press, and school-network word-of-mouth. Design in Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
