Silver winner in Marlow: Jack Frampton, Apprentice of the Year 2026

At the Great British Business & Community Awards ceremony in Marlow, I was named silver winner for Apprentice of the Year 2026. The result is published on the official Great British Business & Community Awards silver winners page and was covered by the Somerset County Gazette. This post is the story behind that award.

The night in Marlow

The ceremony brought together businesses, apprentices, entrepreneurs and community leaders from across the UK. Hearing my name read out for silver in the Apprentice of the Year category was the moment the last few years of work landed properly.

I also took bronze for Young Entrepreneur of the Year on the same night, which made it a double win.

What the award recognises

Apprentice of the Year is about the standard of work delivered while training, not just completing a qualification. For me that means the campaigns I have run at Queen's College, Taunton: email marketing, digital marketing, graphic design, content creation, event marketing, international marketing, SEO, copywriting, data analysis, photography and website management.

It also recognises how I have represented the apprenticeship route itself, through school talks, mentoring and the Taunton Apprenticeship Evening.

Why silver matters as much as gold

Silver at a national awards programme means the work stood up against apprentices from every sector and every part of the country. It is independent confirmation that an apprentice in a Somerset school marketing department can compete at national level.

For the young people I speak to, that is the point: the apprenticeship route does not cap how far your work can travel.

Thanks and what is next

The award belongs to more than me. It reflects the colleagues at Queen's College who trusted me with real responsibility, and the employers and colleges who back the Taunton Apprenticeship Evening.

The full winners list is on the Great British Business & Community Awards silver winners page, the press coverage is with the Somerset County Gazette, and my ongoing work is on Jack Frampton on LinkedIn and the awards and certificates page.
