By Jack Frampton, Marketer at Queen's College, Taunton · Published 14 October 2026

I have been named among the Somerset Future 30 finalists, a programme recognising young people who are shaping the future of business and community life in Somerset. It sits alongside my national award wins at the Great British Business & Community Awards and my finalist places at the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards.
What Somerset Future 30 is
Somerset Future 30 highlights thirty people whose work is making a visible difference to the county's future. It covers business, community and public life, and it looks for people who are building something real rather than simply talking about it.
The full list of finalists is published on the Somerset Future 30 finalists page.
Why I was named
The recognition reflects three strands of my work. The first is my day job as a marketer at Queen's College, Taunton, where I deliver campaigns across email, digital, design, content, events, SEO, photography and web. The second is my apprenticeship advocacy: talks in Somerset schools, free mentoring for school leavers and parents, and honest content about the apprenticeship route.
The third is the Taunton Apprenticeship Evening, the event I founded to bring employers, colleges and young people together in one room in Taunton.
Part of a wider year of recognition
Somerset Future 30 joins a run of recognition in 2026. I won silver for Apprentice of the Year and bronze for Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Business & Community Awards in Marlow, covered by the Somerset County Gazette. I am also a finalist for Rising Star and Excellence Through Teamwork at the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards.

What it means for Somerset
Programmes like Future 30 matter because they show young people in the county that you do not have to leave Somerset to build a career that gets noticed. My route was an apprenticeship in Taunton, and it has led to national awards, local press and a growing platform for apprenticeship advocacy.
